If riding on the historic train is so full of magic, imagine how it would feel to encounter the same train on your causal drive through the Alberta prairies!
First you hear a sound - this magical distinctive "choo-choo" rhythm, so familiar from the old movies, and so different from today's diesel locomotives.
Then, a loud whistle blows, and a cloud of steam lifst from behind the bushes.
Finally, a bulky black shape appears from the trees, like a ghost from the glorious pioneer times. It rolls effortlessly through the crossing, and one by one the old green cars zoom by.
The last car is long gone, but you can still hear the distant "choo-choo" song.
